THE AMBITION AUDIT - YOUR RESULTS

Gold-bordered green circle featuring a simple line drawing of a woman kneeling, with the text 'The Settler' in gold beneath her.

Your ambition has not gone anywhere. It has been waiting for you to come back to it.

WHAT YOUR RESULTS SHOW

You have been delivering for everyone else for a long time. That is not a permanent state. It is a pattern.

You scored highest as The Settler. That means you are excellent at what you do. You are reliable, capable, and the person everyone comes to when things need to get done. Somewhere along the way, in the middle of all of that delivering, you stopped asking what you actually want. Not because you stopped caring. Because it felt easier, safer, or simply less complicated than the alternative. The fact that you took this audit means something in you is already ready to look at this honestly. That matters.

"The ambition does not disappear. It waits. And when you are ready to come back to it, it comes back fast.”

WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

THE PATTERN

You say yes more than you want to. There is a faint flatness that is hard to name. You have not thought seriously about what you want next in a long time.

WHAT CHANGES

Reconnection before strategy. Before you can build toward anything you need to find out what you actuallywant, underneath the performance and the roles you have been playing.

A STORY FROM JACQUI

WHAT YOU DO NOT NEED

A five year plan. A productivity system. Not yet. What you need first is permission to want things, to name them, to stop making yourself smaller than you are.

WHAT YOU ARE CLOSER TO THAN YOU THINK

The fact that you stopped to do this audit means something has shifted. You would not be here if part of you was not already ready.

FROM FINANCIAL SERVICES TO FOUNDING THE AMBITION COLLECTIVE

There was a point where I had been delivering so consistently, so reliably, for so long, that I had almost forgotten I was allowed to want things for myself. My boss had quietly decided my ambitions were someone else's problem to manage. He kept me off the leadership programme, assuming I would not be around long enough for it to matter. And for a while, I let that become the story I told myself too. What changed was not a sudden surge of confidence. It was a quiet decision to reconnect with what I actually wanted, underneath the role I had been performing. Once I did that, everything moved quickly. I pushed my way onto the programme. I spotted the route into CSM that nobody else had taken. Lead within a year. Head Of two years after that. The ambition was always there. I had just stopped giving it permission.

YOUR THREE MOVES THIS WEEK

Ask yourself one question and sit with it: if nobody needed anything from me this week, what would I want to do with my time? Do not edit the answer. Write it down.

Identify one thing you have said yes to in the last month that you did not want to do. What would you have said instead if saying no was an option?

Name one thing you used to want for your career that you have stopped mentioning. Say it out loud to yourself. Notice how it feels to give it air
